Nothing but love for you all!

The 2015 Joe’s Minibike Reunion was one to remember for those of us who had the chance to attend! Our 4th Annual reunion moved to a new location within CV Park, to the larger, more accommodating section known as the Hindenburg area. As the day began, the only thing hotter than the return of Cherie, aka Miss Minibike, was the un-yielding sun that didn’t want to be forgotten on this typical So Cal Saturday in the park! Attracting over 150 mini bikes entrees and just over an estimated 1,000 spectators in attendance, the event was highlighted by an engine dyno demo sponsored in part by Steady Garage. This new promotion was a big hit and allowed registered Participants to have their mini bike dyno tested as a part of their paid entrée. Participants told me that they were already planning on building and bringing additional and new bikes to participate on the dyno next year!

During the Reunion we took some time to celebrate mini bike legends Charles “Minidragbike” Mosley and Vernell “Home Alone” Potter, the latest inductees into the JMBR Mini Bike Hall of Fame. Charles was a stable at the dyno area most of the day and also helped with the judging along with Evil Ed and Taco Bill. Big Rick accepted the award on behalf of Potter and had one of the baddest mini bikes at the Reunion!

These special 2015 JMBR Participants were celebrated and voted on by their peers as the Top 3 mini bikes at this year’s event. #1 Greg Jensen/ Ruttman #2 Brad Elza/ Honda 70 #3 Big Rick / Custom Drag Bike Rounding out the Top 10 were: #4 Hayden Elze/ Honda 70 #5 Mark Lasky/ Steens #6 Ed Dedos/ Honda Ruckus #7 James Muro /Honda Z50 #8 Danny Espinal / George Barris Mini Dragster #9 Rick Truong / Honda 70 #10 George Yamanaka / Kawasaki KV75 Our Top 20 were comprised of: #11 Joey Ball / Honda 70 #12 Minibike Paul / Bonanza MX #13 Eric Adams / Ruttman #14 Jerry Shumaker / Taco Burrito #15 Walt Riddle / Hombuilt #16 Danny Boy / Taco 33 #17 Leon Rower / Taco 22 #18 Jerry Shumacly / Taco 22 #19 David Fac/ Honda Ruckus #20 Red Jensen / Azusa

CONGRATS!: The Winner of the LIL Indian Mini bike also had also had a nice collection of Honda Moto Compo’s at the Show. Someone mentioned he speculated about having to pay for each of his three entrée’s. I wonder which of the ones he decided to enter was the winning entrée huh? Go’s to show you to bring more than one bike, the other enthusiasts really love to see them, (even if it’s one person,) and you double your chance to win!

GOTTA’ TRY RIGHT?: I want to say that although I thought that paying out $1,000 cash to the Top 20 would be a big incentive, candidly, it wasn’t a factor of much substance when it was all said and done. For those of you who won $165+ each to the Top 3 and $70+ each to the remaining Top 10, congrats! Next year, I will not offer cash, yet be sure to invest in other promotions like the dyno and more sponsor give a ways!

And ACTION!: I hope you had a chance to get a picture in front of the JMBR Step and Repeat Wall when you entered. Folks seemed to have fun and enjoy it and many were taking pictures there through out the Reunion!

MEDIA: I want to take a moment to recognize some VIP’s who attended this year’s event: * David Frieburger and son from Roadkill! * Elana Scherr from HOT ROD Magazine. * Jeff Dahlin, HOT ROD Magazine. * ABC Eye Witness News. * REV’N TV.

SPONSORS: Special thanks to Campbell Automotive Repair located in Montrose, CA. LIL Indian aka Allied Leisure Corporation, Pioneer Car Audio, Mothers Polish, CRC Industries, TOYO Tires, Driven Racing Oils, Chip Foose, HONDA of GLENDALE, Swisstrax and many others contributed to the success of the event! I appreciate each and every one of you and thank you on behalf of all the happy winners and attendees!

JMBR TEAM: We had a very special JMBR team assembled this year, which I adore and appreciate. You hear the expression “ none of this would be possible without the help of” but believe me, it’s true! I begin my thanks with my wife Linda and daughter Nikole who drive me and inspire me daily. I want to recognize Brian Paik, my brother and primary assistant launching JMBR over 4 year’s ago. To Mikey, AJ, Ira, Team Fernando, cousin Eddie Mal and Terri, my boy Tomasio, Fred Hartmann, Dom, DJ Dave, my sister in law Melissa, and the Original Marve, I thank you for all the hard work, effort and BS you provided and dealt with. To the local CV HIGH SCHOOL guys/gals who helped with the teardown, I appreciate you all as well. For anyone I missed here, I apologize and hope to see and thank you too. To the folks from Fry Fry Food Truck who didn’t show up and were responsible for the coffee, your lame, late “my truck broke” Saturday email was a joke. Thanks to Go Fusion though, they rocked! As we get ready to head into the fall and winter months ahead, I wish each of you a happiness and health. I encourage you to get your project mini bike idea’s going now and don’t forget to dial in that motor so you can have a stab at the dyno next year too. I am already extremely excited about next year’s event and may look into a spring date going forward. I moved the event from August to September to offset the hot weather a little and it’s backfired for two years in a row. Maybe we do this in sweater weather and see if the cooler weather creates a different vibe for JMBR going forward? I can see the sweatshirt design already!
